Bethesda, MD (October 31, 2006) – Camberley Homes, the premium home building division of Winchester Homes, Inc., announces today that they will be planting 75 new Kwanzan Cherry Trees at their Riverwood community in Ellicott City, Maryland, on Thursday, November 2 at 9:00 a.m. When the planting is complete, the Kwanzan Cherry Trees will be along both sides of Castlebridge Road in the new Riverwood Community. This is phase one of the cherry tree planting for Riverwood. There will be a total of 275 cherry trees planted when the project is complete in 2009.
Camberley Homes is the first residential partner for the Blossoms of Hope Campaign; The Howard County Cherry Tree Project. As a partner in the Blossoms of Hope project, Camberley Homes hopes planting the trees will create awareness of the project and help showcase why the Howard County is a great place to call home. Camberley Homes’ support for the Blossoms of Hope program continues to be focused on people in the community who are coping with cancer. A portion of the sponsorship from each cherry tree will be donated to Howard County General’s Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource and Image Center.
“We are excited about planting the first phase of cherry trees before our new model grand opening in March 2007. By planting the trees this fall, we are hoping the first group of trees will bloom in the spring. Hopefully around the same time as other cherry trees in Howard County and near the time of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC, said Matt Lefler, Director of Operations, Camberley Homes.
